David Blaine

Here we talk about one of the most famous magicians in the world today - David Blaine.

...cont from page 1 The reactions from his TV specials and the fact that they had aroused the publics interest in magic and the secrets of magic, inspired a series of magic TV specials which exposed the secrets of magic tricks. In particular there was even a show which revealed the secrets behind a lot of David Blaine’s magic tricks he had used during his magic TV specials. You can imagine the reactions of the people at the time, finally they could find out about the secrets of street magic through these "street magic secrets revealed" programs.

However, in reality the secrets revealed were not all true. Some of the methods had been completely made up so the public thought they were getting the secrets behind the magic but in reality the real secrets of the magic tricks that David Blaine used were in fact different.

Close Up Magic

One thing that David Blaine’s street magic special did was to increase the popularity of close up magic. Normally on TV people were used to seeing illusion shows and large scale magic tricks normally reserved for the stage. However, David Blaine focused entirely on close up magic and more importantly, the reactions of the spectators to his magic. This idea is what made his series such a success. Since his series has aired on TV the explosion in popularity of close-up magic continues to grow and people are more and more interested in finding out the secrets of magic and the secrets of street magic.
