David Blaine
Here we talk about one of the most
famous magicians in the world today - David Blaine.
David Blaine is an American illusionist and stunt performer born
in Brooklyn, New York City. He made his name as a performer of
close-up magic, usually working on the streets. Amongst magicians
this is commonly known as street magic. His father is Puerto Rican
and his mother was an American Jew of Russian descent.
Street Magic Special
Blaine began his career with street magic, performing card tricks,
levitation, and illusions, such as bringing apparently dead flies
back to life. He had the genius idea of taking a small camera crew
around with him to film the amazed reactions of the public who
witnessed his street magic tricks. It was this footage of his act
which provided the basis for his breakthrough television specials,
David Blaine: Street Magic, David Blaine: Magic Man, and David
Blaine: Mystifier.
His first street magic special was the catalyst responsible for
bringing magic back into the mainstream. He turned magic into cool
magic. Magic was back on the agenda on TV stations worldwide. He
effectively brought magic tricks back to life!
As well as entertaining the nation he also has inspired a whole
new generation of magicians. Many people watching his tricks on TV
wanted to know how they to could become a magician and be
worshiped like David Blaine. They wanted to know the secrets of
street magic, the secrets of doing amazing magic that would fool
all their friends and families.
